In new data released today, La Trobe is Victoria’s most improved University, placing third in the state. The University has moved 101 places in the last three years and 50 places on last year.
La Trobe Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar said it was an outstanding result – capturing the excellence of the University’s teaching and high-impact research.
“This extraordinary growth in our global ranking is a clear reflection of our bold and ambitious focus on conducting innovative, high-impact research that really makes a difference in the world,” Professor Dewar said.
“Highly regarded researchers from across the globe have been attracted to work at La Trobe, carrying out research in dynamic, emerging areas, from cyber security and digital health to AI and business analytics.”
Professor Dewar said that the latest rankings growth is also attributed to the University’s impressive international reputation.
“La Trobe’s reputation on the world stage is endorsed through this latest rankings success, demonstrating the strength of our global education, research and industry partnerships and collaborations.”
La Trobe is ranked in the top 400 universities worldwide by all three major independent rankings agencies: the ARWU ranks the University 307th globally while the 2020 QS World University Rankings ranked La Trobe joint 400th in the world. Read more about La Trobe's rankings.
