It comes after respected UK periodical CEO Magazine’s recent ranking of La Trobe’s online Master of Business Administration as the best in Australia.
Victoria’s third oldest university already has more than 1600 online students from outside its campuses’ geographic catchment areas, and that number is predicted to more than double in the coming months.
The La Trobe Online website features a simpler system for enrolling and a comprehensive guide to prospective students about studying online. New online courses include a Bachelor of Applied Information Technology, a Master of Cybersecurity and a Master of Management.
The university’s online Moodle and Canvas Learning Management Systems are delivering high quality online learning technology.Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) Professor Betty Leask said: “Online courses are an increasingly important part of our portfolio of offerings.
“They enable students who would not normally be able to study with us to join the La Trobe community. Online learning is not for everyone, but it is important for many.”
