Predictors and Trajectories of Change in Family Therapy: A Longitudinal Cohort Study Using Routinely Collected Clinical Data
Reference: PRO-26146
Primary supervisor: Dr Sandra Kuntsche
Scholarship Amount
$36,000 per annum, for 3.5 years (full time).
Project Details
This mixed-methods PhD project uses routinely collected clinical and service data from a family therapy program to examine engagement, treatment outcomes, and service effectiveness. Building on established evidence of outcomes at 6 months, the study adds prospective qualitative and quantitative follow-up at 12 months post-intervention with consenting families, assessing the sustainability of therapeutic change. Quantitative analyses will enable longitudinal cohort comparisons, subgroup analyses, and investigation of predictors of long-term outcomes, while qualitative data will generate new insight into families' lived experiences of therapy. Together, these findings will inform family therapy practice, policy, and service development.
