Delivered in partnership with the Eagleworks Innovation Centre, the AI Innovation Ventures Program gives students the opportunity to develop AI-driven solutions and pitch their ideas to industry and innovation leaders.
Second-year Master of Artificial Intelligence student, Min Tet Raymond Choong, said participating in the program has cemented his ambition to pursue a career in AI.
“I wanted experience that would equip me with the right skillset to work on the frontier of AI,” he says.
As part of the program, Raymond undertook the AI and Tech Innovation Frontier subject, where students work with mentors to develop AI-driven solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
“The program culminated in a business pitch competition, where teams presented their ideas for how AI can enrich lives through practical, real-world application,” he says. “The winning team was awarded startup capital to help bring their concept to life.”
“I could see a lot of potential in the program. It offers great mentors, a strong structure and quality facilitators to guide participants through their business venture journey.”
AI Innovation Ventures Program industry partner Peter Rowe, from ServiceNow, said the experience helped students develop in-demand workplace skills.
“As a representative of ServiceNow who regularly ‘pitches’ ideas and innovation to customers and prospects, it’s great to see these skills embedded within student education, whilst at the same time allowing the transfer of ideas and thinking at the very forefront of technology between the IT industry and its future architects and leaders,” he says.
