Study Family Therapy in 2026: Apply Now

Applications are now open for the 2026 Graduate Certificate in Family Therapy and the Master of Clinical Family Therapy.

Our academic programs in family therapy are unique courses that focus on skill development and experiential learning within a practice-research environment. In addition, these postgraduate courses are accredited by the Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT).

As a student in La Trobe University’s family therapy courses, you will have unmatched access to the industry-leading, integrated clinical, training and research resources of the Bouverie Centre. Our courses will empower you to stay at the forefront of the most recent advancements in evidence-based family therapy and systemic practices.

Graduates may find work in the public and private sectors as a family therapist, counsellor, teacher or supervisor in family therapy.

APPLY NOW FOR ROUND 1

The closing date for Round 1 applications is 14th October 2025. Applications can still be made after this date until course places for 2026 are exhausted. Apply as early as you can to maximise your chances of a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP), which will reduce course fees.
