International exchange with La Trobe Business School

La Trobe Business School’s international exchange program is a great way to explore the world, make new friends, and gain a global business perspective.

From Canada, UK, USA, Europe, South Korea, Hong Kong and beyond – La Trobe Business School’s international exchange program is a great way to explore the world, make new friends, and gain a global business perspective.

Dr Helen Yang, Associate Dean of Academic Partnerships, says the program provides a transformative learning experience.

“Whether it’s adapting to new environments, solving global challenges, or mastering cross-cultural communication, our exchange program ensures that students develop the resilience and versatility needed to thrive in todays’ global business environment,” she says.

So how does it work?

The international exchange program offers students the opportunity to study overseas for a semester or a full year while earning credit towards their La Trobe degree. With access to over 40 partner universities across 20 countries, students can access unique subjects and different teaching styles.

Students are also able to access a generous mobility grant, which provides them with some financial support while they are overseas.

Hear from some of our exchange students about their life-changing international study experiences.

James Marsden, a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Psychological Science student, went on exchange to the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. He says it was the “best decision” he made during his time at La Trobe.

“The experience was both exciting and challenging. I made so many new friends from around the world and got to experience a different university with new and interesting subjects. It also gave me a global perspective and improved my confidence,” he says.

Amy Malone, a Bachelor of Accounting student, agrees wholeheartedly.

“I studied at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. The exchange allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, meet new people from all around the world, and develop my independence. I completed elective subjects in the field of economics to support my education in accounting back home. Overall, it was such a rewarding experience.”

Chloe Irwin, a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Psychological Science student, spent her exchange at Jönköping International Business School in Sweden.

“Going on exchange gave me a global perspective, and it opened my eyes to issues faced in other economies. It was a great insight into a broader way of thinking and has encouraged me to pursue an international career.”
