The event, presented in collaboration with Google Developer Group and Innovation Central Melbourne, marked the culmination of a month-long hackathon, which challenged students to design AI-powered solutions addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Keynote speakers included Andrew Spaulding, Head of Customer Engineering at Google, Professor Chris Pakes, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Industry Engagement), and Professor Wenny Rahayu, Dean of the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.
The night celebrated the creativity and hard work of student teams, who demonstrated how technology can be harnessed to make a real-world impact.
The Business Stream was won by Team BlueTracker, comprising Tam Nhu Ly, Thi Thu Thao Le, Anh Quan Chau, and Mrigank Lamba, for their digital platform that helps aquaculture farms monitor water quality and improve sustainability.
The Coding Stream was won by Team Longevita, made up of Farisa Aliya and Pranay Reddy, for their AI-powered wellness platform that turns everyday food choices into preventive health tools.
Team Flush-It-Forward, represented by Tanvir Ahmed Aadeef, received a Judges’ Commendation for their sustainability-focused initiative promoting responsible sanitation and water usage.
Professor Rahayu congratulated the award winners.
