The 2025 edition of La Trobe University’s showcase sport event is set to be held once again at the home of our industry partners, the Carlton Football Club (in the Ikon Park Function Room), on Thursday 13 November.
La Trobe University has a proud history of excellence in performance, participation and contribution to sport. Years affected by COVID aside, the University has held the prestigious Blues Sport Awards gala dinner every year since 2005 to celebrate and recognise performance of the highest calibre by its student athletes. In addition, the Blues Sport Awards provide the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary service to sport at the University by our affiliated clubs, teams and individuals.
La Trobe University is once again pleased to invite students, staff, alumni, club members, friends of La Trobe and VIP guests to celebrate the achievements of La Trobe’s sporting fraternity.
Ten major award categories will be presented on the night, ranging from the celebration of the University’s elite athletes with the prestigious University Blue, University Half-Blue, Academic Excellence, Alumnus of the Year and Sports People of the Year Awards, through to recognising the outstanding La Trobe representative sport achievements in Coach of the Year, Team La Trobe Athletes of the Year and Team La Trobe Team of the Year. The awarding of community sport-based honours with the Sport Club of the Year and Outstanding Service to Sport at La Trobe University will also be presented on the night.
The night will also be highlighted by a La Trobe Elite Athlete Program alumni panel discussion featuring former Hockeyroo, Sophie Taylor, and four-time Australian Paralympian, Ahmed Kelly (pictured below). The panel discussion will be moderated by event MC and ABC Sport presenter, Lauren Bordin.
