Anthony, on the cusp of a prosperous accounting career

Anthony Circosta is on the cusp of a significant milestone in his life. Having completed a Bachelor of Accounting, he reflects on his journey and describes the feeling of reaching this achievement as incredibly rewarding. "All the hard work has paid off, and I’m looking forward to the next chapter and the opportunities ahead," he shares.

Growing up in Mildura, Anthony spent his childhood on his family's table grape farm. He attended St Joseph's College and then moved to Mildura Senior College for his VCE. The supportive environment of these schools played a crucial role in shaping and preparing him for university life.

Anthony's passion for numbers and problem-solving led him to pursue a career in accounting. "It’s a career that offers growth and the opportunity to help businesses make smart financial decisions," he explains. Joining Southern Cross Business Advisers (SCBA) as a cadet was a natural choice for Anthony, given its strong reputation and professional development opportunities. Studying the course online provided him with the flexibility to balance work and studies effectively.

Anthony found the key to success was being organised and staying focused, by managing due dates, and scheduling both study and work time."Blocking out my weeks, setting priorities, and breaking tasks into smaller parts helped me set clear objectives," he says. Taking breaks and staying active also played a vital role in avoiding burnout.

The hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world accounting situations at SCBA have significantly built his skills. Looking ahead, Anthony says, “I’ve learned a lot through my study journey. Both the challenges and the rewards have helped shape my approach to time management and adaptability. I am excited about what the future looks like and the opportunities that lie ahead.”
