The La Trobe Rural Health School has celebrated its highest performing students at the prestigious Ulumbarra Theatre in Bendigo.
Head of Bendigo Campus, Marg O’Rourke, introduced the prizes, which were awarded to students across several schools, and welcomed the opportunity to hold the first in-person event for several years.
“We were really thrilled to be able to come back together to celebrate these wonderful achievements,” she said. “The depth of work our students and alumni do is extraordinary.”
The awards were announced by the Dean of the La Trobe Rural Health School, Professor Jane Mills, who commended students from a range of disciplines.
“It was a tremendous opportunity for us to celebrate not only students in the La Trobe Rural Health School, but also from other schools across La Trobe university,” she said.
Professor Mills also thanked donors who supported the prizes.
“It makes a real and meaningful difference to students in the progression of their studies,” she said.
Almost 100 awards and bursaries were acknowledged during the ceremony, honouring outstanding academic success from students ranging from first-year undergraduates to postgraduates.
