People with disabilities are widely recognised as a group at risk of trafficking, but very little is known about the specific vulnerabilities they face or and how well counter-trafficking efforts and recovery services are meeting their needs.
Our report on the intersection between disability and trafficking for the ASEAN-Australia Counter Trafficking program, which aims to help fill this gap, was launched on 16 April at the 24th Conference of the Alliance Against Trafficking in Persons in Vienna.
The research was undertaken by Elisabeth Jackson, Abner Manlapaz, Cucu Saidah and Alisa Sivathorn.
