La Trobe celebrates graduation with partner, Singapore Institute of Management

La Trobe University and the Singapore Institute of Management celebrated this year's graduates at a ceremony in Singapore on 15 March 2024.

Thirty-one students graduated from Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality) courses and seven from the Bachelor of Business (Event Management).

Professor Amalia Di Iorio AM (Pro Vice-Chancellor, Educational Partnerships, La Trobe University), opened proceedings and Professor Wei Kwok Kee (Provost, Singapore Institute of Management) gave the occasional address. The student address was delivered by Tan Xiao Rong, Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality) graduate.

Dr Geraldine Kennett from the La Trobe Business School gave the closing address, noting that the University takes great pride in this long-term partnership.

"The La Trobe University relationship with the Singapore Institute of Management was launched in 2018.”

"The Singapore Institute of Management is recognised in the region for its focus on developing work and industry skills in its graduates. I congratulate them on their 60th anniversary this year, and the wonderful impact that this institution has had on close to 200,000 alumni since its establishment in 1964," she said.

"La Trobe Business School academics are dedicated to delivering high-quality teaching to Singapore Institute of Management students, and actively participating in a global dialogue of ideas with its academics.”

“Together, we have been making some incredible gains – since 2018 we’ve celebrated 211 graduates from the program and, this semester, we look forward to welcoming our 11th cohort of students."
