The La Trobe Law Association of Mooting Alumni (LLAMA) recently met for a celebratory evening in Melbourne.
LLAMA, a network of alumni who have represented La Trobe Law School at international mooting competitions, met to welcome new members and celebrate the School’s recent mooting success.
Mooting plays a vital role in legal education at La Trobe and the La Trobe Law School has a strong reputation for mooting at the highest levels, including international competitions.
Dr Lorne Neudorf, Dean of the La Trobe Law School, said the association provides an opportunity for alumni to stay in touch and helps current La Trobe mooting students prepare for future moots.
“It is tremendously rewarding to connect with association members to learn about their continued success as legal professionals.”
“Their career achievements inspire our current students. LLAMA provides a community to bridge past and present mooters, offering support and encouragement to our teams. Its members help continue the Law School's tradition of mooting excellence.”
Members of LLAMA have represented La Trobe at international mooting competitions including the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moots in Hong Kong and Vienna, the Frankfurt International Investment Arbitration Moot, the Jessup Moot, the International Criminal Court Moot and the Nuremberg Moot.
