Shared Reading, sometimes called ‘bibliotherapy’, is an immersive experience shown to help with depression and anxiety.
It gives people from all walks of life a space to gather in small groups and listen to a story and poem. We read slowly to allow space for reflection and our responses to emerge and be shared.
We are looking for participants to take part in eight weeks of Shared Reading as part of a research project on fostering wellbeing during the pandemic. The sessions will be run by Dr Zoe Thomas, a trained Shared Reading facilitator, creative writer and Academic Skills Advisor.
The eight week program includes weekly 90-minute sessions, beginning Wednesday 27 July at 4 pm.
