Staged reopening of indoor La Trobe Sport facilities from 18 June

La Trobe Sport is pleased to announce a staged reopening of its indoor sport and recreation facilities at the Bundoora Campus.

Update: Thursday June 24

With the maximum capacity of indoor venues being increased to 300 people,  La Trobe Sport is pleased to announce the resumption of the following programs from Friday June 25:

Indoor Sports Centre:

  • Specialty Studios and Group Fitness Classes (Zen Den, Core Cave, Strong Zone and Main Studio)
  • General Court and Pool Bookings
  • Birthday Parties
  • Casual hire of courts

La Trobe Sports Stadium:

  • Larger facility and group bookings
  • La Trobe League (Sunday 27 June)

Please ensure that you sign in to the Victorian Government QR Code Service upon arrival at our facilities and that you are wearing a mask (we do not have any spare at reception) whenever you are not exercising or competing inside of our facilities. If you are not wearing a mask upon entering our facilities, you will be denied entry and asked to leave the premises.

In conjunction with the University, La Trobe Sport has been closely monitoring the situation and working towards a phased return of activities through a careful COVID-safe process which complies with government health and safety requirements.

From Friday 18th June, the gym and pool will reopen at the La Trobe Indoor Sports Centre as per normal operating hours. This includes our La Trobe Swim School programs, which will operate as per normal.

Due to the current density and capacity limits in place for indoor recreation facilities, general court or pool bookings at the Indoor Sports Centre will not go ahead this week (until at least Friday June 25) as we prioritise our staff and student members.

On Monday 21st June, the La Trobe Sports Park Stadium will reopen as per normal operating hours. Bookings and casual hire of the La Trobe Sports Park Stadium courts and the synthetic pitch will resume on Monday, subject to the current density and capacity limits in place for indoor sport facilities.

If you are intending to visit any of our facilities over the next week, we strongly recommend you call our reception staff on (03) 9479 2973 prior to your intended arrival time so we can advise you of current capacity at our venues.

We will provide another update as soon as the total number of patrons in indoor sport and recreation facilities are increased, which will immediately trigger our ability to facilitate larger indoor court bookings and resume a number of our programs and competitions closer to their full capacity.

Please ensure that you sign in to the Victorian Government QR Code Service upon arrival at our facilities and that you are wearing a mask (we do not have any spare at reception) whenever you are not exercising or competing inside of our facilities. La Trobe Sport staff have worked extremely hard to ensure that we will be providing the safest environment possible for our community upon the reopening of our facilities. We are asking all our members and patrons to take note of all the COVID-Safe signage around our facilities to ensure they are aware of the temporary processes we have put in place whilst attending our facilities.

La Trobe Sport would like to thank all of our valued members and customers for your ongoing patience throughout this period, and we appreciate your understanding and compliance towards our new processes while certain restrictions remain in place.
