COVID-19 Update – 5 August, 2021: La Trobe Sport facilities to close and Bendigo Sports Centre opening delayed

In response to the Victorian Government announcement on 5 August regarding the return to stay at home restrictions for all of Victoria, La Trobe Sport will again be ceasing all sport and active recreation on campus from 7:00pm on Thursday 5 August until further notice.

This includes all activities (apart from teaching or research activities) that involve the use of the following facilities on the Bundoora campus until further notice:

  • La Trobe Sports Stadium
  • La Trobe Indoor Sports Centre
  • La Trobe Sports Park Fields

Please note that La Trobe League Netball matches scheduled for Thursday 5 August are cancelled.

The planned Monday 9 August opening of the Bendigo Sports Centre has also been delayed until further notice.

This cessation of activity affects the following users:

  • All La Trobe University sport clubs and university sport-related activity using any La Trobe University campus facility for training or competition
  • External hirers and regular user groups using La Trobe Sports Park facilities
  • Sports Centre members and users of the gym, fitness studios, pool or courts
  • External booking holders for birthday parties, school groups, swim school, school holiday programs or other ad-hoc facility bookings
  • Each user group and customer with an existing booking during this period will be contacted directly by La Trobe Sport staff to provide further details and discuss your booking options

La Trobe Sport, in conjunction with the University, will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and will provide updates on the staged reopening of our facilities as per Victorian Government guidelines.
