The BEST centre celebrates ARC Discovery Success
The BEST centre had tremendous success in the recently announced ARC Discovery round, scoring two grants with a combined value of over three quarters of a million dollars.
Dr Conor Hogan and Dr Peter Barnard from the BEST centre received a Discovery Project grant from the Australian Research Council to explore a new sensing strategy based on bipolar electrochemiluminescence which could allow non-specialists to perform cheap and simple environmental and medical tests.
Dr Jason Dutton and Dr Conor Hogan were also awarded a Discovery Project grant from the Australian Research Council to develop novel gold catalysts which could aid in the synthesis of medicinal and diagnostic compounds.
