La Trobe University receives four new external grants for research into student equity

La Trobe University has received over $100,000 in research grants from the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education’s (NCSEHE) 2020 funding round. La Trobe received four of the seventeen 2020 NCSEHE grants (from 103 applications). The four new research grants are led by La Trobe’s Centre for Higher Education Equity and Diversity Research (CHEEDR). The successful projects are:

  • Supporting student parents to succeed in Australian higher education (CIs: Lisa Andrewartha, Dr Andrea Simpson, Dr Lizzie Knight & Hannah Beattie),
  • Undermatching and underrepresentation: Improving student equity across fields of education (CIs: Beni Cakitaki, Michael Luckman & A/Prof Andrew Harvey),
  • Care leavers in Australian higher education: success and graduate outcomes (CIs: A/Prof Andrew Harvey, A/Prof Jacqueline Z. Wilson, Naomi Tootell & Beni Cakitaki),
  • Towards principles for inclusive analytics in Australian higher education (CIs: Dr Bret Stephenson, A/Prof Andrew Harvey, Prof Damminda Alahakoon & Dr Qing Huang).
