Mental Health Essentials will create a community of practice across six institutions to co-design an open access, living publication with an Australian and New Zealand focus. It consolidates essential mental health concepts, contemporary clinical practices, self-care strategies and culturally safe approaches into one accessible resource.

Informed by principles of experiential learning, reflective practice and trauma-informed education, the publication includes interactive activities, quizzes and case studies to encourage deep learning. Ideal for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, this resource aims to make mental health clinical placements more effective and enriching, ensuring students are well-equipped to make a meaningful impact in their careers.
