Borrow from other libraries

Studying or working at La Trobe University (LTU) not only allows you to access our collections, but also the collections of many other libraries across the globe.

Request items through LTU Library

If an item you need isn't available in our collections, you can request it from another academic library thanks to our Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Service (ILDDS).

Our ILDDS team will liaise with the other library on your behalf and, if able, have a scanned copy of the requested content emailed to you or have the item delivered to one of our campus libraries ready for you to pick up.

Note: The item will be borrowed using your LTU Library account – you do not need to be a member of the other library.

Borrowing in person

If you are visiting another (non-LTU) academic library in Australia or New Zealand and would like to borrow an item from their collections, you may be able to join that library as a CAVAL or ULANZ member thanks to your LTU enrollment/employment.

This service is available at libraries participating in the CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program or ULANZ Borrowing Scheme.

Note: If the other library doesn't provide CAVAL or ULANZ membership, you may still be able to join as a community (i.e. public) member. Please check their website or ask their staff to find out more.
