Graduate Research Scholar is your go-to newsletter for navigating graduate research at La Trobe University (LTU).
Our aim is to bring together events, resources, training, tips and news relevant to you and your research on a fortnightly basis and deliver it directly to your inbox. Each edition delivers curated updates to help you:

We welcome submissions that align with the purpose of Graduate Research Scholar. Scholar curates relevant resources and updates to support graduate researchers in the following areas:
- Research development
- Career progression
- Connection to the LTU Graduate Research community
- Overall wellbeing
Submission specifications
Word limit
To ensure clarity and maintain reader engagement, please adhere to the following word limits for your newsletter content:
- Headline – Up to 10 words
- Main content – Up to 200 words
- Links to web pages with more information are welcome
Images
To ensure optimal display in our newsletter, please submit images with a 16:5 aspect ratio. This format provides a wide, banner-like layout that aligns with our design, reducing the risk of unintended cropping or distortion.
Common 16:5 dimensions include 1200 x 375 pixels and 1600 x 500 pixels, but any size maintaining the 16:5 ratio and with a minimum width of 900 pixels will work.
If you don’t have access to tools that allow you to adjust to a specific aspect ratio, you can:
- submit the image to Scholar, and we can adjust it for you
- do your best to crop the image to proportions similar to the example below.
