Gifts and donations
The Library currently has a large backlog of donations to review, so we are unable to accept requests until further notice. However, the University Archives team is interested in any collections related to the University.
Acceptance of donations is conditional on compliance with the strategic direction of the Library and La Trobe University (LTU) and must meet a gap in our collections and/or be directly related to our learning/teaching or research areas.
The Library assesses all requests for potential donations according to our Collection Development Framework guidelines. If you have any questions or would like to discuss a potential donation to the Library, please get in touch.
Items related to La Trobe University's history
If you would like to donate archival material, such as papers, photographs or records, that are related to the University and its antecedent institutions, please contact the University Archives team.
Cultural gifts program
The Library is eligible to participate in the Australian Government's Cultural Gifts Program. The program encourages gifts of significant items to libraries, public art museums and other cultural institutions by offering donors a tax deduction for the market value of the gifts.
