Read and Publish agreements
Read & Publish agreements combine payment for subscription access (read) and open access publication (publishing) into one fee, which allows La Trobe University (LTU) authors to avoid paying, or receive a discount on, Article Processing Charges (APCs) with certain publishers.
Agreements with publishers
Most of our Read & Publish agreements are negotiated by the Council of Australasian University Librarians (CAUL), which allows an agreement to be made with publishers on behalf of multiple universities.
The Library has compiled a list of the publishers that provide APC discounts and waivers for LTU authors, along with the types of articles that are covered in the agreement.
Note: You must use your LTU email address at submission to be eligible for the discount/waiver.
Journals with full (100%) fee waivers
To help you decide where to publish your article, we have developed a searchable list that identifies journals that waive the full APC in their Read & Publish agreement, along with key journal metrics to support your decision-making process.
The journal list allows you to:
- search, filter and sort journals by several factors
- follow a link to detailed information about the relevant CAUL agreement or to the publisher's website
- export a CSV file of your filtered search results.
