Students studying in a group in the Borchardt Library

The Borchardt Library at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus has three levels, each designed for progressively quieter study.

  • Level 1: Talk – Group discussions are welcome on this level, and there are meeting rooms that you can use for individual or group work. There is also a cafĂ© and the ASK La Trobe Help Zone at the front of the Library.
  • Level 2: Quiet – Group discussions are acceptable, but they should be kept to a considerate noise level so other Library patrons are not disturbed. There are meeting rooms you can use, as well as the Online Learning Zone (see below).
  • Level 3: Silent – This level is for silent individual study. There should not be any group discussions on this level.

The Borchardt Library's Accessibility and Inclusion rooms are available to eligible students registered with Accessibility and Inclusion.

These rooms can be booked for up to three hours and are available during the Library's face-to-face support hours. For bookings, feedback or support, please contact the Library.

Bundoora Online Learning Zone

The Online Learning Zone is designed specifically for you to participate in online classes. Inside, you’ll find PCs equipped with webcams and study spaces for using your own device.

You can talk freely and participate in online classes, but please use headphones so others can enjoy a similar experience.

The Online Learning Zone is located on Level 2 and is only available to La Trobe students. You will need to swipe your student ID card to gain entry to the space.

If you have any problems accessing this space, please contact the Library.
