Work Placements
La Trobe University Library offers ten-day work placements throughout the year. We recognise and understand the importance of work placements and the benefits they provide to students, host institutions, and the library sector.
We provide a limited number of work placement opportunities for those enrolled in tertiary education who require a student placement as part of the course completion.
Applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
How to apply
Placements for students enrolled in ALIA-recognised library and information management courses are coordinated by our Library Community Programs and Engagement team, liaising with student placement coordinators at universities.
Please contact the Library detailing the following:
- why you are interested in a placement at La Trobe University Library and the areas of library operations you hope to learn more about
- preferred month of placement
- any specific requirements from your education institution, including any requirements for specific projects as part of your placement
- your Working with Children Check card number
- a brief resumé
