We celebrate and support our vibrant LGBTIQA+ communities here at La Trobe.
Whether you are brand new to La Trobe or have been around for a while, check out these ideas for how to connect with our rainbow student communities at La Trobe.
1. Join our group program – Finding Pride
Finding Pride is a group program run by LGBTIQA+, for LGBTIQA+ people. It offers resilience-building skills and the chance to form connections with a close group of peers. Each program runs once per semester, with students attending six 1.5-hour sessions over seven weeks. Available at the Bundoora campus (Semester 1) or online (Semester 2).

2. Attend La Trobe Pride Week
La Trobe celebrates our annual Pride Week each year in August, to avoid clashes with June exams.
In 2025, Pride Week will be held from 18 – 22 August (Week 4). From stalls, entertainment, webinars and more, Pride Week is an opportunity to connect, celebrate and support our rainbow communities at La Trobe.
All our campuses hold Pride events, so check out the Student Events Calendar to see what’s on at your local campus and come along!
Students who pre-register for our Bundoora Pride March can receive a FREE goodie bag on attendance!

3. Join a club or society
La Trobe has a range of inclusive student clubs and societies, catering for a range of interests including gaming, craft, anime, music, religion and politics. Many are popular with LGBTIQA+ students. We also have specific LGBTIQA+ clubs, like the La Trobe Queer Club at the Bundoora campus.
Search the full list of clubs and societies on the find a student club web page.
If you don’t find something you like, you can always start a club of your own!
4. Attend a training or workshop
La Trobe’s Respect @ La Trobe team run training and workshops to help everyone create more inclusive communities. This includes LGBTIQA+ Ally training, run multiple times throughout the year.
From 2024 Semester 1, all new staff and students are required to complete our Respectful Behaviour and Culture Module on LMS. If you’ve been with us longer than that, you can still access the module on LMS.
5. Get involved in La Trobe Sport
La Trobe Sport is dedicated to celebrating our inclusive and diverse community, where everyone feels like they belong. They endorse and uphold gender affirming practices to encourage and facilitate intersex, trans, and non-binary participation in sport and active recreation.
