This Society aims to support Honours and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students within the Department of Environment and Genetics, La Trobe University by providing opportunities for skills development and networking, supporting students while they are studying and providing a sense of community. Hakama Nakama

Hakama Nakama is the Japanese Club of La Trobe University. It is a place where you can meet others with a mutual interest in Japan, Japanese culture and the Japanese language. We hold a range of in-person and online events such as games night, study sessions, karaoke, badminton, meet-ups with Japanese students, and more! If you are looking for help learning Japanese, we have a Discord server where you can chat with domestic and international students with varying levels of Japanese fluency. You can also share interesting things you’ve found online and browse through a range of beginner to advanced language learning resources in our Resources Channel. Some members of the club also offer private tutoring if that is preferred. In 2023, we hope to grow our club, develop relationships with other Universities Japanese clubs, and host a wider range of events; suggestions are welcome!

The La Trobe University Car Club is a club that allows car enthusiasts to mingle with each other and talk about their passion in cars. The club in an inclusive club that allows anyone to join and to share their cars with the club.
