Opportunity starts here
The La Trobe community funds four new scholarships for semester 2. A recent appeal featuring one of our rural nursing students saw an outpouring of support, ensuring that more students who face barriers to success are being given the opportunity to thrive at La Trobe.
Scholarships mean that a university education is in reach for every student who wants to learn. But for too many, challenges like cost, location, and personal circumstances stand in the way.
The recent support for scholarships from the La Trobe community shows a deep belief in the potential of every person on their educational journey, regardless of their circumstances. It’s giving students the tools, stability and encouragement they need to build a better future — for themselves, and for the communities they’ll go on to serve.
Current nursing student Stephanie shares just how powerful this support can be: “Nursing is all I’ve ever really wanted to do, so this fund is really helping make that dream achievable for me.”
La Trobe is investing significantly in new teaching facilities and infrastructure across our regional campus network. We recently delivered $30 million worth of new state-of-the-art teaching facilities at our Albury-Wodonga, Mildura, and Shepparton campuses – doubling our capacity to educate nurses for these regional communities.
Thanks to the incredible generosity shown over the past month, four additional scholarships will be awarded in Semester 2 — giving even more students the chance to pursue their goals.
This collective support is doing more than funding education. It’s helping students overcome adversity, grow in confidence, and take meaningful steps toward the futures they’ve dreamed of.
On behalf of every student whose journey is brighter because of your kindness — thank you. Your generosity is making a real and lasting difference.
Support more students in need
We know that a university degree can create generational change for our students – but it also helps develop the workforce in critical disciplines like nursing.
Through donor support, we can ensure that a university degree is within reach for every student who wants to learn.
