Climate change – risks & opportunities

Register for a special student workshop

Climate change is real and transforming our world.

La Trobe’s Sustainability team, together with Student Voice and Partnerships, is hosting a 1‑hour workshop designed to help students build climate literacy while also sharing their own experiences, concerns, and ideas.

What’s on the agenda?

This session brings together short presentations and small‑group interactive discussions to:

  • Build knowledge about the science of climate change and how physical and transition risks may affect Australia, Victoria, and La Trobe’s local regions.
  • Explore students’ current awareness of climate impacts that may occur over the next 25–50 years.
  • Understand students’ concerns and lived experiences related to a changing climate.
  • Gather ideas from students on the skills, learning, and support they would value as La Trobe strengthens its approach to climate literacy and climate‑related preparedness.

Workshop dates

Sessions will run in person at:

  • Bendigo – Monday 10 March
  • Albury‑Wodonga – Monday 17 March
  • Bundoora – Tuesday 18 March
