Orientation through the eyes of a La Trobe Leader

“This week the campus came alive for O-Week. Walking into the Agora for my first La Trobe Leaders shift this year I was greeted by amazing performers on stilts, music and a talking robot! The atmosphere was electric and it was the perfect way to set the tone for the year to come – seeing the rejuvenation of the Bundoora campus has to be my favourite part of the week.

As a Leader, I had the pleasure of leading explorer tours with my peers and letting new students in on the tips and tricks of university life and some of our favourite places. Additionally, I worked at the mentoring stall where we ran a prize wheel spinner activity for students who signed up (it’s still not too late) so they could win free La Trobe merchandise.”

“My best piece of advice for anyone starting university is to take up every opportunity you can. Your university experience is what you make it and through the different programs and clubs I have joined I have made memories to last a lifetime and friendships that I hope will too. Dive headfirst into anything that sparks your interest and I assure you that your university experience will be all the better for it.

Good luck!”
