Find out how to decode letter grades for your results!
The Schedule of current assessment grades and administrative codes contains all letter grades (and their scores) along with administrative codes.
Common administrative codes include:
Code | Definition |
** (Missing Result) | If you are unsure why you have a missing result, contact your Subject Coordinator. |
EX (Exemption) | When you have an exemption for a subject, this is often Advanced Standing (credit) for previous study. |
KN (Withdrawn late) | If you withdraw from a subject after the ‘Last withdraw without fail date’ you may receive a KN grade (counts as a fail). The ‘Last withdraw without fail date’ is usually around 4 weeks after census date – check the exact date on the Census dates webpage. |
NRA (No Result Available) | This code may mean that you did not complete your AIM or Wominjeka modules or that you attended a subject at another institution, but they have not provided us with the result. |
SAHA (Supplementary Additional Hurdle Assessment) result | You have not passed the hurdle requirement of the subject. You will be given an extra assessment task. You will be emailed the details of the task and be given a due date by a college staff member. You are being given an extra opportunity to pass the subject. |
SAHE (Supplementary Additional Hurdle Exam) result | You will be given an opportunity to sit a Special Exam as you did not pass the exam hurdle requirement of the subject. The exams are run during the Special examination period. |
SPA (Special Assessment) | You did not successfully complete your assessment task and will be given an alternative assessment task. A college staff member will email you with details of the task, and a due date for submission. |
SPE (Special Exam) result | You will be given an opportunity to sit a Special Exam as you did not successfully complete your original exam. The exams are run during the Special examination period. |
W (Withheld) result | A Subject Co-ordinator may withhold a result for reasons such as, your assessment is still under review, your placement has not yet been finalised or if you are unsure why you have a Withheld result, contact your Subject Coordinator. |
WD (Withdrawn without academic penalty) | This code is used if you withdrew from a subject after Census Date (which means you are financially liable for the subject) but before the ‘Last withdrawal without Fail’ date. |
X | Continuing Pass (for thesis subjects that have been XC when the final subject result is finalised) |
XC | Allowed to Continue (for thesis subjects to indicate that a student is successfully progressing) |
