Connect overseas

As a La Trobe graduate, you are part of a global network of more than 230,000 alumni making their mark in more than 100 countries around the globe.

We invite you to become an active member of this network to help develop your career, continue your learning, and contribute to the future of La Trobe. If you live or work abroad, there are many ways to stay connected with the University and meet other alumni in your country.

Be sure to update your contact details so we can send you the latest news and events relevant to you.

Become an International Alumni Ambassador

Want to contribute to the global La Trobe alumni community? Sign-up as International Alumni Ambassador!

As an Ambassador for the University, you will act as an ‘In-country Advisor’, creating a vital link between alumni in your area and La Trobe. You'll also play a key role in connecting local alumni with each other.

We'll call on you to deliver alumni networking events in your country, to support new graduates returning home or to provide advice to alumni visiting your country.

In return, you will receive access to special activities and offerings, including invitations to VIP La Trobe University events with senior staff (where applicable) and exclusive networking activities.

We are currently looking to build our alumni ambassador program, with the aim to have representatives across the globe!

To register your interest, or to find out who your local in-country ambassador is, please contact Kali Micallef, Manager of Alumni Relations - International.

Become an alumni buddy

As an alumni buddy, you'll connect with La Trobe students studying on a university exchange to help ease their transition into another country and offer support as a local expert.

How you help your student is up to you. You can chat over email, catch up over a coffee, or even share a meal together!

This program recognises the welcoming role alumni can play in providing local advice, answering questions and being a friendly face in what, to a student, is a brand new place.

To register your interest in becoming an alumni buddy, please contact the Alumni Relations Team.

This program is intended to be a social, friendly connection only. All students are supported through La Trobe Abroad for any serious concerns or matters.
