Subject outline

This subject will enable you to apply theoretical knowledge and integrate a range of professional skills by undertaking an extended sports coaching placement. In preparation, you will be required to explore the sport coaching industry and undertake activities to enhance your self-development and build a portfolio of evidence of your capability. Alongside the practicum experience you will reflect on your performance, development and learning and apply these in your preparation to become more employable within the sports coaching workforce.

Career Portfolio (equivalent to 1,500 words). Students will undertake a range of activities in the PebblePad Career Portfolio Workbook to recognise strengths, knowledge, skills and to build a portfolio to assist the student to self-market. All activity undertaken/in the PebblePad Career Portfolio Workbook will be recorded and submitted for Assessment 1.

Sports Coaching Practicum (100 hours) with Logbook submission. Students to use their PebblePad workspace during practicum for written reflections and supervisor evaluations to demonstrate competence.
