Subject outline

This subject will explore how and why the legal professional is being disrupted, locally, nationally, and internationally. This subject will explore disruptive innovation within context of regulatory framework, business structures, commoditisation and Old Law versus New Law business models. The subject will consider the application of corporate disruption case studies to disruption of the legal profession but focus on the issues that are driving contemporary practice including the impact of disruptive business models and new practice vistas. Legal and ethical opportunities and challenges arising from legal disruption, the Justice Gap and social media will also be examined.
