Subject outline
In this subject, you will build upon the knowledge and skills developed in previous human biosciences and medical terminology subjects. You will develop abstraction and analytical skills in interpreting medical documentation including clinical progress notes, specialist and general clinical assessments, drug therapies, and reports from medical imaging, pathology and other specialised investigations. The terminologies of specialist and general therapies, including current and emerging practice areas will be studied. You will gain sound skills for future professional work in clinical practice, health classification, medical record design, clinical documentation improvement, clinical and health information governance. case mix funding, and clinical trials. Information systems utilised to manage radiology, pathology and pharmacy will also be explored.
