This work integrated learning (WIL) subject allows you to extend your formal academic learning beyond the classroom. It provides a real world experience allowing you to bring your learning from University into the work place and test out your knowledge. The Accounting Work Placement brings together the expertise of industry partners and La Trobe University staff for the benefit of your professional development.

Learning ActivitiesStudents will acquire skills in the practical application of knowledge and teamwork gained while undertaking supervised work in a real business environment. This includes presenting report findings via a formal business presentation and report writing for both professional and academic audiences.

Special conditionsBy application only. Subject coordinator approval required for enrolment. A minimum WAM of 65% is required. All eligible students are sent an email invitation to apply at the commencement of semester. Applications are made by completing the required forms made available via an LMS application site for this subject. Students are required to source their own placement and can obtain guidance from the subject application LMS site and from La Trobe Careers Service.

100-120 hours of placement conducted off-site. Students are required to attend a mandatory soft skills session prior to commencing their placement. The timing of this workshop will be arranged in consultation with students.
