Are you a regional student making a difference in your community? The ABC wants to hear from you! Their 2026 Trailblazers Program is now open and looking for people aged 18 to 28 who have started social, educational, environmental or economic development projects in their regional community.
Whether you’re a community leader, social entrepreneur, advocate or event organiser, Trailblazers is your chance to shine and gain national recognition for your work.
Past Trailblazer projects have tackled diverse topics, such as strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, promoting youth wellbeing, advancing sustainable farming, fostering inclusivity for individuals with disabilities and ensuring quality educational access.

Who can apply?
In order to apply, you’ll need to be:
- An individual or group of up to three people
- Aged 18 – 28 as of 1 February 2026
- Working on an innovative project aimed at strengthening communities in rural, regional or remote Australia
- Committed to making a positive impact in your community
- Available to travel to Canberra in February 2026 (TBC)
