University should be a place where everyone feels safe, respected and included. The Racism@Uni Survey is your chance to speak up and help make uni a place where everyone belongs.
This national study invites students and staff across Australia to share their experiences with racism at university. Whether you’ve lived it, seen it happen or simply want to be part of the solution, your input can help shape a more inclusive future – both at La Trobe and nationally.
As outlined in the Vice-Chancellor’s message, insights from the survey will help inform key initiatives for combatting racism at La Trobe – including our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Framework, which launched on 9 September.
Why should I take the survey?
- Your feedback matters: Every response helps build a clearer picture of what’s happening at La Trobe and at universities across the country.
- Real stories, real change: The results will inform recommendations to universities and government to ensure racism has no place on campus.
- It’s for everyone: Whether you’ve experienced racism personally or not, your perspective is important.
- It’s quick and confidential: The survey takes just 15 minutes and all responses are anonymous. It’s run independently by the Australian Human Rights Commission.
