LRHS Conference 2026: Intersections of Place, People and Health

Join La Trobe Rural Health School for the LRHS Conference 2026 at our Albury-Wodonga Campus.
Across three days, you’ll hear from rural health practitioners, researchers, educators, students and community partners exploring local solutions to regional health challenges.
The conference will focus on:
- social determinants of health in rural settings
- place-based service delivery
- cultural competency and First Nations health leadership
- research, collaboration and community-led approaches
This event may be especially relevant if you’re studying health, research, ageing, policy, community services or regional practice.

Three Minute Thesis presentations from Higher Degree by Research candidates.
Thursday 2 July, 9am–4:30pm
Main conference, including keynote presentations, research showcases and discussions. Keynote speaker: Sharon Walsh, Chief Executive Officer of Beechworth Health Service.
Thursday 2 July, 5:15pm–7:30pm
John Richards Centre Oration on rural ageing and aged care policy, practice and research.
Friday 3 July, 9am–1pm
Graduate Research Symposium, showcasing emerging research from HDR students.
