AlburyCity Student Bursary – La Trobe Business School – $1,500

Background
Awarded to talented final-year students from the Albury/Wodonga region who are studying at the La Trobe University Business School and are from the Albury-Wodonga region, and have demonstrated their commitment to the future of their profession within the local community.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
One bursary of $1500 to be awarded to a student studying in the La Trobe School Business School who:

  1. is a local resident from the Albury/Wodonga region (the Albury/Wodonga region incorporates the surrounding shires of Wodonga, Corowa, Greater Hume, Towong and Indigo);
  2. is entering their final year of study;
  3. has proven academic achievement; and
  4. has demonstrated commitment to a future profession within the field of study, with evidence of the contribution this may have to the local area.

Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
Application and supporting documentation.

AlburyCity Student Bursary – Psychology Science – $1,500 

Background
Awarded to talented final-year students from the Albury/Wodonga region who are studying on the Albury-Wodonga Campus in the Department of Psychology and Counselling, and have demonstrated their commitment to the future of their profession within the local community.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

One bursary of $1500 to be awarded to a student studying in the Department of Psychology and Counselling who:

  1. is a local resident from the Albury/Wodonga region (the Albury/Wodonga region incorporates the surrounding shires of Wodonga, Corowa, Greater Hume, Towong and Indigo);
  2. is entering their final year of study;
  3. has proven academic achievement; and
  4. has demonstrated commitment to a future profession within the field of study, with evidence of the contribution this may have to the local area.

    Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:
    Application and supporting documentation.

AlburyCity Student Bursary –  School of Social Work and Social Policy – $1,500 

Background
Awarded to talented students from the Albury/Wodonga region who are studying in the La Trobe Rural Health School in the area of Social Work and Social Policy on the Albury-Wodonga Campus, in their final year of study and who have demonstrated their commitment to the future of their profession within the local community

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
One bursary of $1500 to be awarded to a student studying in the La Trobe School of Rural Health in the area of Social Work and Social Policy who:

  1. is a local resident from the Albury/Wodonga region (the Albury/Wodonga region incorporates the surrounding shires of Wodonga, Corowa, Greater Hume, Towong and Indigo);
  2. is entering their final year of study;
  3. has proven academic achievement; and
  4. has demonstrated commitment to a future profession within the field of study, with evidence of the contribution this may have to the local area.

Lisa Malone Scholarship – $4,000

Background
This scholarship pays tribute to the work of Lisa Malone, former resident of Wodonga and student in Social Work at La Trobe University. Lisa’s life was devoted to helping people in need within Australia and overseas. Her humanitarian work took her to Alice Springs where she worked with handicapped aboriginal children and also to El Salvador, Southern Mexico and Guatemala. Lisa was working with the United Nations as part of an aid team providing education programs for Mayan people when she and seven others died in a helicopter crash in 1998.

La Trobe University, with the support of the Albury-Wodonga community, The Border Mail and the Hume Bank established the scholarship to commemorate Lisa’s life by recognising and supporting others who are also dedicated to the highest humanitarian ideals.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian ideals
  • Be studying an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the Albury-Wodonga Campus

Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by the University based on their:

  • Demonstrated commitment to social development in any discipline area, either in Australia or overseas.
  • Financial circumstances.
  • Academic achievement.
  • Interview with selection panel

Applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to attend an interview at a date to be advised.
