Subject outline

In this foundation level clinical practicum subject, students will develop basic clinical and patient handling skills in a supervised context within the Eye & Ear Hospital clinical school network. Students will also have an opportunity to travel and undertake non-metropolitain placements. At the end of the placement, it is expected that students will have developed skills to assess vision, various ocular structures, functions and pathologies within a clinical ophthalmology context. This subject will enable students to progress to the advanced Orthoptic Clinical Practicum subjects.

Placement - Off Site Week: 02 - 14
One 20.0 days placement - off site per study period on weekdays during the day from week 02 to week 14 and delivered via face-to-face.

Four 2.0 hours workshop per study period on weekdays during the day from week 06 to week 14 and delivered via face-to-face.
