2018

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

Students will develop personal and professional skills through a community engagement experience to be undertaken in the Summer semester.  Students will be required to self assess areas of interpersonal skills, communication and professional behaviour that require development prior to commencement of the Masters Degree component of their course.  Students will identify and source a community engagement experience that will assist in the development of these skills, and will provide meaningful assistance to the chosen community.  The subject will involve an orientation seminar, an online component, with the majority of the time spent off campus (equivalent to 96 hours or 12 days) spent in the community based experience.  Students will reflect on the achievements of their community engagement experience through a reflective portfolio.
