Using urgent care clinics for non-life-threatening conditions

When there is an incident that involves an injury or a personal medical condition that requires immediate treatment but is not life-threatening, the La Trobe Health and Safety team advises all students to use an Urgent Care Clinic.

Urgent Care Clinic will attend to:

  • Infections or fevers
  • Cuts, burns or minor wounds
  • Fractures, sprains or similar injuries

What you need to know:

  • There are 29 clinics across Victoria with one close to each campus location
  • Open 7 days a week, early to late
  • No Medicare card, GP referral or appointment required
  • Free to attend
  • Staffed by qualified urgent care doctors and nurses

Urgent Care Clinics are available to everyone, including domestic and international students.

If you are in a life-threatening situation and need emergency care now, call triple zero (000) or visit your nearest emergency department.
