When there is an incident that involves an injury or a personal medical condition that requires immediate treatment but is not life-threatening, the La Trobe Health and Safety team advises all students to use an Urgent Care Clinic.
Urgent Care Clinic will attend to:
- Infections or fevers
- Cuts, burns or minor wounds
- Fractures, sprains or similar injuries
What you need to know:
- There are 29 clinics across Victoria with one close to each campus location
- Open 7 days a week, early to late
- No Medicare card, GP referral or appointment required
- Free to attend
- Staffed by qualified urgent care doctors and nurses
Urgent Care Clinics are available to everyone, including domestic and international students.
If you are in a life-threatening situation and need emergency care now, call triple zero (000) or visit your nearest emergency department.
If you are uncertain whether a situation is life-threatening, seek advice from a health professional before attending an emergency department.
