Protect your car in just a few minutes! On 17 March, our friends from Victoria Police and the State Emergency Service will be at the Bundoora campus for Safe Plate Day, giving you the chance to have free anti‑theft screws fitted to your number plates.
This quick drop‑in service helps reduce the risk of number plate theft—one of the most common vehicle‑related crimes in Victoria.
Whether you drive to class every day or only occasionally park on campus, this is an easy way to keep your vehicle secure and support a safer community.
Why change to anti-theft screws?
Number plates are frequently stolen and used to hide vehicles involved in offences such as petrol theft, burglary and other serious crimes. To help combat this, Victoria Police developed the SafePL8 initiative, which makes it harder for thieves to remove plates by replacing standard screws with one‑way, anti‑theft screws.
