Memories of Chisholm College

A place that became home.

This blog was written by Semester 2 intern, Pranay.

When I first moved into Chisholm College, I thought it would just be a place to sleep and study. Somewhere between the laughter in the corridors, the quiet comfort of the kitchens and the endless late-night conversations, it became so much more. Chisholm wasn’t just walls and rooms, it was the beginning of friendships that felt like family. It was the space where homesickness slowly turned into belonging, where ordinary days turned into stories I’ll carry forever. Every corner carries a memory: cooking disasters that turned into group dinners, birthdays celebrated with nothing fancy but so much love and the feeling that no matter what, someone was always there for you.

The lake, the sunsets and the heart of it all

The lake near Chisholm became my escape, my place of peace. I can still picture the ducks gliding across the water and the sky melting into gold and pink at sunset. Those moments grounded me. They reminded me to pause, to breathe, to take it all in. The sunsets over the campus weren’t just beautiful; they were lessons in slowing down and realising how lucky I was to be here. Chisholm gave me more than a place to live; it gave me moments of stillness, moments of joy and memories that will always bring warmth to my heart.

More than just a chapter

Looking back now, I realise Chisholm shaped my university life in the most unforgettable way. It wasn’t just about having a room on campus. It was about being part of a community that celebrated the little things together. Whether it was walking back from classes and bumping into familiar faces, or sitting under the stars after a long day, these were the moments that stitched themselves into my story.

Leaving Chisholm feels like closing a chapter but it’s one I will revisit in my heart for the rest of my life.
