Kick off the new academic year with one of Melbourne’s biggest celebrations for students. The City of Melbourne is inviting all new and returning local and international students, to a special welcome event at the iconic Queen Victoria Market.
Whether you’re coming along with friends or looking to meet new people, this is a fantastic way to experience Melbourne’s culture, food and vibrant student community.
The Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome is a free annual event recognising the contribution international and domestic students make to Melbourne’s diversity and cultural life. Come along and hear from Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece as you connect with students from across the globe.
Get ready for an exciting mix of cultural performances from African drumming and international student showcases, to high‑energy K‑pop dance performances.
Explore interactive activity zones, snap photos at media stations created by student volunteers, enjoy face painting and pick up some fun giveaways.
