On Tuesday 9 September, La Trobe launched its new Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Strategy and Framework – a big step towards making our university a place where everyone feels welcome, respected and supported.
The launch event featured a powerful panel discussion hosted by Dr Melanie Bish, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Regional) and EDI Chair. Panellists Ro Allen, Tharidhu Peries, Adam Bourne and Renee Sleigh joined us to share their lived experiences and expert insights on what helps (and holds back) real progress in equity, diversity and inclusion.
One key message stood out: building an inclusive university takes courage, curiosity, kindness and openness from all of us. It’s something we all have a role in.
