Get support when you need it with extended counselling hours

We know it can be hard to find the time to access support – especially when you’re juggling study, work and everything in between. That’s why La Trobe’s counselling service will soon offer a a limited number of sessions outside standard hours from Tuesday 5 August, with sessions starting as late as 5.30 pm.

These extended hours are designed to give you more flexibility to make an appointment when you need it most – whether that’s after a long day of classes or once your work shift ends.

What is our counselling service?

As a La Trobe student, you can access free, private and confidential counselling appointments with our expert team. This is a space where you can talk to a trained professional about anything that’s affecting your wellbeing, from stress and anxiety to academic pressure and feeling overwhelmed.

You can make an appointment with a counsellor for all sorts of reasons, no matter how big or small the problem may seem. Your counsellor can provide you with short-term individual support and help refer you to other services at La Trobe or in the local community if necessary.

Sessions are available either in person, online or via phone, so you can choose what works best for you. You can also browse our Wellbeing Hub to find resources to help you at your own pace.
