Subject Description:This subject develops student's understanding of evolution of knowledge management and the various technologies that enable and facilitate the creation, storage and dissemination of organisational knowledge. High-level design of knowledge management driven technology-based initiatives like corporate knowledge directories, process documentation, datawarehouses, BI, process automation, workflow; and document management are discussed. Further, knowledge management system technologies including intranets and portals, knowledge management system life cycle, organisational cultural issues in knowledge management projects, knowledge management system deployment and evaluation are also covered.
Class Requirements:one 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week
