Anatomy "Session full"

Designed to help you gain a better understanding of how the body works by looking at how we breathe, this interactive workshop gives you access to skeletons, models, x-rays and, for those who are interested, cadavers  (i.e. dissected human bodies donated to science). Please note, only students year 10 and above will be able to enter the cadaver lab, but you may also opt out.

Criminology

Are you curious about how and why people commit crime and the ways in which our justice system responds to it?
La Trobe’s Criminology offering spans across Psychology, Science and Law and is the only degree in Victoria that includes forensics as a core component.
In this workshop hear from La Trobe’s specialists in forensics and cyber law, plus immerse yourself in the world of cybercrime via a hands on digital activity and learn how it’s being tackled.

Digital Business & Business analytics

Engineering

Engineers take on the challenge of a changing world, creating the solutions to problems. Understanding of multiple engineering disciplines helps to create better solutions. Understanding Civil, Industrial and Electrical concepts will ready you for a career in a variety of exciting settings.

Human Nutrition and Dietetics

Our food and nutrition session outline the skills and knowledge you'll require to help people make food choices aimed at improving health and preventing diet-related diseases.

Languages and Linguistics

With eight languages on offer and high subject flexibility, a language can be studied within almost all of our degrees. Find out how studying a language can improve your job prospects and open doors to careers all over the world. Through Linguistics explore the structure and design of language, how language relates to thinking and how it functions in society.

Nursing and Midwifery (session full)

Gain an understanding of the skills required by nurses and midwives in clinical practice.  Experience a simulated clinical ward environment, where you can take part in caring for a simulation patient and interact with a range of equipment our students use as they train to become a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.

Orthoptics

If you have an interest in eyes, then look no further! A workshop in two parts, providing information about the Orthoptic course and the profession, followed by hands-on activities assessing various aspects of vision (visual acuity, colour vision, 3D vision etc.). Learn more by attending the session!

Paramedicine

Get hands-on experience with the equipment essential to the practice of paramedicine, while at the same time learning what paramedics really do and the challenges involved in doing it.

Parent Information Session

Prerequisites, ATAR, VTAC, pathways, early entry programs - some of these terms may be new to you. Come out of this session with a better understanding of the process of applying to university.

Podiatry

Podiatrists treat patients with complex medical conditions of the foot and ankle. They work in many areas of advanced practice such as paediatrics, sport, surgery, and prescribed medicines. Learn about the exciting new technology being used by podiatrists in clinical practice from world-class researchers changing and shaping this profession.

Science "Session full"

When you study science at the university level, you develop skills and knowledge that will allow you to contribute to some of the biggest challenges the world faces today. Science graduates are highly valued and sought after by a diverse range of employers. Experience a snapshot of what a scientist can do in our state-of-the-art labs.

Speech Pathology

La Trobe is the longest standing provider of speech pathology education in Victoria, so we understand no two days of the profession are alike.

Learn about what Speech Pathologists do day-to-day to diagnose and treat speech and language problems. Hear about professional placements La Trobe students complete while studying to perfect their clinical skills.

Sport and Exercise Science

Sports Coaching and Development

The Bachelor of Sports Coaching and Development prepares students for employment in coaching, coach education, sport science and sport development. Learn how to apply a range of skills in the areas of athlete performance, sport management, fundamental sport science and advanced coaching sciences.

Gain an understanding of the skills required by nurses and midwives in clinical practice.  Experience a simulated clinical ward environment, where you can take part in caring for a simulation patient and interact with a range of equipment our students use as they train to become a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists (OT) are needed in local and international communities to improve the quality of life for people facing challenges such as chronic illness, injury, mental illness or disability. Find out from our world-leading academics how an OT helps manage daily living throughout a patient’s life.

Paramedicine

Get hands-on experience with the equipment essential to the practice of paramedicine, while at the same time learning what paramedics really do and the challenges involved in doing it.

Prosthetics and Orthotics

This workshop will introduce you to the working environment of the profession of the Prosthetics/Orthotist (P&O).  Clinical disciplines that deal with artificial limbs (prostheses) for people with amputations and supportive devices (orthoses) for people with musculoskeletal weakness or neurological disorders.

Law witness exam
